I'm Jamelle Monet and I was born and raised in the Southeast End of Newport News, Virginia. A wife and mother of a blended family of six children, a Licensed Esthetician and Cosmetic Tattooer, entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Browz & Esthetics Spa by Jamelle Monet LLC. I found my love for beauty artistry as a young adolescent. My Grandfather and Mother were both artists in the beauty industry owning one of the few barber/beauty salons in downtown Newport News, Va. Growing up as a "shop kid", that's what I like to call it!
I've learned customer service, shop etiquette, braiding, hair Shampooing, How to care for natural hair, finger waves, and much more... Not only were they both artists, but my younger brother and I also kept the craft in solid rotation. In 2016, After countless compliments of how beautiful my brows were always well groomed. My niche became an obsession! I absolutely love, and am passionate about the art of eyebrows.
While working part-time for Rite Aid for about 5 years before I began my home-based beauty business. In 2017 I attended and graduated from The Chrysm Institute of Esthetics in Virginia Beach, VA as a Professional Esthetician. Shortly after graduating, I worked at Modish Hair Studio for a short while offering eyebrow services then shortly after I began leasing a suite in an intimate spa expanding my services to Facial treatments and eyebrow services both of the salons were located in Hampton, Va.
In 2019, dreams became reality, Browz & Esthetics By Jamelle Monet (BEBJM) was birth opening my own salon suite located inside the Ecommerce Workplace Center in Hampton, VA. As my business continued to grow I furthered my education in 2020 for Cosmetic Tattooing at Miracle Beauty and Nail Academy located in Virginia Beach, VA as a Licensed Cosmetic Tattooer specializing in precision brow shaping, mapping, and outlining techniques, and the artistry of Permanent makeup microblading, shading/ombre, combo brow techniques, Eyeliner and lip blushing. Graduating and becoming licensed opened another blessing during the pandemic. Although during the pandemic my business was impacted. BEBJM was blessed and opened a brick-and-mortar storefront location in the heart of Hampton's business locations on the West End of Mercury Blvd. Although my keen eye for attention to detail and my obsession with eyebrows never died it opened my eyes to love skincare. Which is also my niche. It is a science to healthier skin, it takes a lot of patience. And although eyebrows are my first love, our skincare protects the covering of our bodies and it goes hand and hand. This is why at BEBJM they are a dynamic duo.
